Wolters Kluwer Regulatory Experts Timothy R. Burniston and Barbara Boccia to Speak at ABA Regulatory Compliance Conference

Burniston and Boccia to provide insight on adapting to current and future regulatory expectations

Wolters Kluwer today announced that Timothy R. Burniston, Executive Vice President of U.S. Advisory Services and Regulatory Relations, and Barbara Boccia, Senior Director of U.S. Advisory Services and Regulatory Relations, are speaking at the ABA Regulatory Compliance Conference on June 11-14, 2017, at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Fla.

Burniston will participate in the panel discussion, “Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC): Roles, Responsibilities and Reporting,” taking place on Sunday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m., ET. During the presentation, Burniston and the other panelists will provide insights on the key attributes of a sound, high-functioning GRC program.

Also on Sunday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m., ET, Boccia will join other panelists to present, “Identifying Trends in Complaint Data.” During the presentation, Boccia will identify the relevant trends in complaint data to aid in good decision making and support operational improvements. Both sessions will be repeated at 1:30 p.m. that same day.

“Complaint management should be the function of every person in the organization, from top to bottom to top,” said Boccia. “For financial institutions, consumer interaction is a cornerstone of doing business, so it’s critical to pay attention to their feedback and understand their pain points. If handled correctly, complaints can be transformed into a competitive advantage.”

Burniston joined Wolters Kluwer’s financial services business in 2011 to lead its Advisory Consulting Services practice, which helps compliance and risk management executives more effectively navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment. Previously, he was a federal government senior executive who designed and led compliance, fair lending, and Community Reinvestment Act examination programs for the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the former Office of Thrift Supervision.

Boccia is a seasoned compliance professional who has served in senior-level compliance roles with major consulting firms and mid-to-large size banks. She has also assisted banks with regulatory examination preparation and response engagements.
